From the Principal
June 12, 2020
Well, the end of the 2019-20 school year is here. Typically, the last day of school brings smiles and joy to everyone. I must tell you this year that is not the case. Our teachers are not doing happy dances and the last zoom calls were pretty emotional for them. This school year will be remembered by many people. Despite the changes, challenges and losses, there have been silver linings too. For example: teachers learned how to reach their students in new ways, parents have a deeper understanding of what teachers do, families got to enjoy each other more frequently, the hectic nature of our lives came to a halt for a bit, and I think we all found deeper appreciation for each other.
Thank you again to all the parents who persevered through the home learning plans and provided fun and enriching learning experiences for their children. I want to thank older siblings who helped our little Knights by guiding them in the learning process. Dr. McCahill, Dr. Fox and our Board of Education's support and guidance helped calm fears and provided the resources we needed to be successful in this new learning platform so we must thank them as well.
I want to thank the PTA for delivering the 2nd grade goodie bags to houses and for our t-shirts. Even if we couldn't do our Clap Out, they made our 2nd graders feel special. Please take a look at this wonderful video put together by Ms. Quartironi, with help from Mrs. Enright. I would be remiss if I didn't give Mrs. Goodman a shout out for her distance stage directing! 2nd grade Virtual Clap Out
Our home learning plans will remain available through the summer. The student resources link, here, takes to you to the programs. Most are available to continue to use throughout the summer. Please continue to read as much as possible and find fun ways to include math problem solving in your daily life! We will be busy planning our reentry protocols. I will be in touch and update letters with new information when it becomes available. You can always email me at email@example.com if you have any questions.
Have a wonderful summer!
All the best,
