From the Principal
This week in the digital backpack you will find information from the PTA regarding PARP Knight 2-13, Miller Book Fair, the Patience leaf, PTA sponsored Family Zumba Knights, Nanuet High School 5K run/walk and Fun Run in March, Bucket Filler's Pledge.
I can't fathom how quickly these weeks pass. Thank you to the PTA and Mrs. Lipson for having Kristin O'Rourke as the guest speaker last night. Social/Emotional/Behavioral development is so critical for our little knights. We want them available for learning and in order for that to happen, they need to be peaceful and alert. We learned some wonderful strategies to help children work through their problems in school and at home. Thank you to La Petite Dentists for educating our students on good dental hygiene in a fun and engaging way on Tuesday during their assemblies.
This week is a busy week here at Miller. Our Scholastic Book Fair is happening Monday through Friday in the music room. PARP KNiGHT is on Wednesday 2-13 from 7-8:30 with DINOmite activities planned! Our 100th day of school is Friday as well as the Rockland Read-In. Second graders are busy writing a variety of paragraph types, some convincing me not to take recess away ;) Science experiments are happening throughout the building with AHA moments making learning super fun! The entire 4th grade class came to read to our kindergarten students. It was amazing to see how much they have grown. Mrs. Fastiggi brought some 7th graders to read to the 1st graders on the same day.
Our word of the month for February is Patience. The definition we are using is patience is a person's ability to wait for something without getting upset. Our quote this week is "Have patience - everything is difficult before it is easy." Please see the leaf flyer in the digital back pack. Fill one in and send it in to decorate our tree that the art department has created. Ms. Q will be organizing our Lunar Day Parade on Tuesday and the students and staff are very excited for the return of this parade and that we get to learn about and celebrate the Chinese culture. We are a diverse community and embrace this aspect of our school wholeheartedly.
Have a great weekend!
